The CAT Patch Notes

The honest header

The CAT does not have official patch notes. Ikigai Cybercore Studios has not posted a public changelog for The Cat Shelter. There is no Trello. There is no public Discord invite. YouTube videos that open with today’s patch and then read six bullets about toilet HP, taser range, or Angel cat spawn rates are writing fan fiction over a store [UPD] tag.

This page will not invent those bullets so we can look complete. It will say what we can observe from the live experience, the Roblox store, and server settings, then send you to the updates hub for the dated timeline.

If you need a written patch to feel safe jumping in: the game released on 28 April 2026, it is free to play, it is online multiplayer, and the loop is still Cat versus Caretaker (also called vet or guard) with a feral-city afterlife. That sentence is more accurate than a fake 1.4.2 recap.

What we can infer

Observable facts are allowed. Mind-reading the studio is not.

Launch configuration (28 April 2026). The Cat Shelter ships as an asymmetric roleplay. Escape methods in the live client — pickpocket keycard, break toilet into the sewers without a card, dig tunnels and secrets, rare Angel cat jump-out, group rescue — are how the map is built, not a later DLC. Caretaker tools — taser, Arrest Cat, police baton, shotgun, jail — likewise read as launch-loop gear even when later passes add louder guns. We will not pretend we have a day-one patch file that lists them.

Concurrent peak (13 June 2026). 29,998 CCU is a platform number, not a balance note. It tells you the servers were full, not that jail HP changed. Latest API around 13 September 2026 showed about 56.4 million visits and about 666k favorites, with the experience last updated 9 September 2026. Those numbers explain why fake codes and scripts flooded search. They do not describe a patch.

Server size 24 → 26. Early snapshots and third-party trackers showed a 24-player cap. The live cap is 26. That is a real configuration change. We do not have a sentence from the studio about crowding, performance, or role ratio. Infer only this: two extra seats per server. In a shelter that small, two extra cats change tunnel congestion; two extra caretakers change jail queue. Whether that was the intent is unpublished.

Gamepass board growth. The store currently sells Rainbow Leash (25 R$), Bypass Team Limit (79 R$), HMG (149 R$), AWM Sniper (149 R$), Elite SWAT (249 R$), CAT HAT Bundle (259 R$), Boss Mafia Cat (299 R$ — Golden AK at the feral base, +60 HP), Elite Cat Surgeon (299 R$ — tranquilizer, +150 HP), Private Jail Cell (399 R$), Premium (399 R$, perks unpublished), Director (549 R$ — grant weapons to vets), and El Gato (549 R$, perks unpublished). Adding those rows is the closest thing The CAT has to a content patch we can prove. Director’s vet-weapon grant is published. Premium and El Gato remain opaque; this page will not fill them in. Rankings belong on gamepasses and weapons, not in a fake notes block.

Store and API update 9 September 2026. Roblox API and store snapshots around that date are the last movement we treat as confirmed. Visits around 56.4 million and favorites around 666k are the same kind of statistic, not a changelog. The tag might have been a thumbnail, a description, a pass, a lighting tweak, or an unpublished bugfix. We will not pick one. There are still no public notes and still no promo codes. Combat injectors breaking after that window is a side effect of client churn, documented on the script list, not a patch bullet about anti-cheat.

Player-reported controls. Sprint on Shift is player-reported. Until the studio writes a controls screen we can cite, it stays in controls as a report, not as a patch that added sprint.

What we will not infer

• Exact damage numbers for taser, shotgun, HMG, AWM, Golden AK, or tranquilizer across weeks.
• Whether the toilet break got easier or harder.
• Angel cat spawn rate changes.
• Hidden XP, seasons, or a battle pass. None is documented.
• A redeem-code panel that still does not exist.
• Discord-only hotfixes we cannot link.
• Anything copied from The Cat [Alpha] (place 6114598339), Catch the Cat, or smaller Cat Shelter clones.

If a recap channel lists those items with a date, ask for a studio URL. If the URL is a stolen Discord or a Trello that does not exist, discard the recap. Official destinations are on links: the Roblox place and the group. That is the entire primary-source set.

A template we will use when notes actually exist

The day Ikigai Cybercore Studios posts a real changelog, this page will switch to dated entries with this shape:

• Date and store-title string ([UPD] or a version if they ever add one)
• Source link (group shout, store description, or a public post — not an invite we do not have)
• Reproduced changes (map, tools, passes, server size)
• Unverified player reports, clearly labeled

Until that day, every entry would be empty except the inferred block above. We would rather look sparse than look like a clone of a codes website.

How a player should use an inferred changelog

Do not wait for a 1.x number. After any store tag:

1. Join place 76526090659517 (26 players, free to play).
2. Run the escape checklist once as a cat: keycard, sewer toilet, tunnels, Angel jump-out, group rescue.
3. Run one caretaker round with taser, Arrest Cat, baton, shotgun, and jail. Notes on Caretaker play and the caretaker role.
4. If you escaped, walk the feral city once. If you own Boss Mafia Cat, the Golden AK is at the feral base — that is pass text, not a patch.
5. Skip How to Redeem unless a Codes button is actually in the lobby.
6. Skip combat GUIs. They are the first thing a silent client change invalidates — see the scripts hub.

New players should ignore patch anxiety entirely. Open Getting Started and the guides hub. The CAT is not a weekly raid tier list. It is a shelter you re-learn with your feet.

Why fake notes spread

After the June 2026 peak, search volume for The CAT update and The CAT patch notes outran the studio’s communication. Content farms filled the vacuum with numbered lists. Some mixed in Catch the Cat redeem strings. Some mixed in horror-map changes from The Cat [Alpha]. Some invented a breeding system and a winter event that this experience does not document. This wiki’s job is to refuse that mix, even if it means a short page.

A short, sourced notes page is more useful than a long one that will be wrong next week. When the store title changes again, the updates hub gets the date, and this page gets a new inferred line — or a real quotation if the studio finally writes one. Until then, there is no official patch text to copy, and we will not write it on their behalf.
