The CAT Tier Lists
Escape routes, weapons, and gamepasses ranked S through C for live 26-player servers.
The three lists under this hub exist because The CAT does not have a single best character. You spawn as a cat or as a caretaker, and the useful question is which route, tool, or Robux pass actually changes the round. Rankings here use an S-A-B-C scale. S is the option you should learn first. C is real but unreliable. Nothing is listed as F: every method on these pages works on some servers.
This page is the map. Detailed placements live on escape routes, weapons, and gamepasses. If you have not played a full loop yet, read Getting Started first so the letters make sense in motion.
How the S-A-B-C scale works
S means high success rate on a typical 26-player server, low extra cost, and a skill floor a new player can hit in one sitting. The toilet-to-sewer breakout sits here because almost every cat can find a bathroom and use the attack-break, even though caretakers camp the pipe.
A means strong and repeatable, with a clear downside you can name in one sentence. Pickpocketing a keycard is A: it opens doors on demand, then paints you as the cat everyone hunts. Group rescue and feral help also sit in A because they scale with teammates instead of with luck.
B means the method is good if you already know the layout. Tunnels belong here. Digging is part of the official fantasy of The Cat Shelter, but a first-hour player gets lost, and a caretaker who knows the junctions recaptures you in the dark.
C means the method is real and exciting, yet you cannot plan a session around it. The rare Angel cat roll is C. If it happens, enjoy the easy exit. If it does not, you still need an S or A plan.
We do not use D or F on these lists. A dead option would not be ranked. We also do not mix fun with effective. A pass that only changes cosmetics will never share a letter with Bypass Team Limit.
Escape routes list
The escape-route ranking scores how you leave the shelter, not how stylish the clip looks. Toilet into sewers is S because it is the fastest teachable exit and the one veterans camp. Keycard theft is A because it is reliable once you land the pickpocket. Calling ferals or lining up a group rescue is A for the same reason a coordinated lobby beats a solo dash. Tunnels are B until you memorize junctions. Angel is C because it is RNG.
Use that page with the how-to-escape guide and the escape checklist. The rank tells you what to practice. The guide tells you the clicks. The checklist keeps you from standing in the doorway after you pop out.
Weapons list
The weapons ranking splits free caretaker tools from paid guns. On the security side, the taser is the core free weapon, backed by Arrest Cat, the baton, and the shotgun. Those four define the default loop: stun, cuff, escort, and hold space. Paid options such as the AWM, HMG, M4A1, Golden AK, and the Elite Cat Surgeon tranquilizer change time-to-kill and range. Cats answer with stolen guns and the hairball, then with whatever they pick up after a breakout.
Read that list next to the caretaker guide and the caretaker role page. A letter on a gun is meaningless if you do not know when you are allowed to fire it.
Gamepasses list
The gamepass ranking orders Robux by impact, not by sticker price. Bypass Team Limit at 79 R$ is quality-of-life S because The CAT caps teams and the short side is often the one you wanted. Combat passes — Elite SWAT, Elite Cat Surgeon, Boss Mafia Cat — are pay-to-win in a fight, with published HP shields, rifles, and the Golden AK at the feral base. Director at 549 R$ is lobby control: it grants weapons to vets. Rainbow Leash is a cheap arrest multiplier. CAT HAT is cosmetic. Premium and El Gato are unpublished; this wiki does not invent their perks.
Pair that page with the players hub so you know which side a pass actually serves.
How to use a rank on a live server
Join the experience listed as The Cat Shelter (place 76526090659517). Pick a side. If the team you want is full, wait, swap, or spend Bypass Team Limit. Then pick one S or A plan and ignore the rest of the alphabet until that plan works twice. Cats should lock a bathroom and one pickpocket angle. Caretakers should lock taser plus Arrest Cat before shopping for an HMG.
Ranks assume a mixed lobby, not a stacked friend group. A five-stack of ferals can make a B tunnel look like S. A Director who hands rifles to every vet can make a fair gunfight look hopeless. Adjust after you see the server. Do not rewrite the list in your head before spawn.
What this hub refuses to do
It does not sell you a best main. Both sides are free. It does not treat vet and caretaker as proven separate teams; players use both labels for the security side. It does not list promo codes — as of September 2026 there are none, which the codes hub already states. It does not invent unpublished pass perks. Player-reported details are marked as such on the child pages.
If a patch moves a route or a gun, the child list updates first, then this hub summary. Check patch notes when the store or the shelter layout changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for The CAT on Roblox.
What do S, A, B, and C mean on The CAT lists?
S is the first thing to learn. A is strong with a named downside. B needs layout knowledge. C is real but too random to plan around.
Which tier list should a new player open first?
Cats start with escape routes. Caretakers start with weapons. Spend Robux only after gamepasses.
Do these ranks assume paid gamepasses?
No. Free tools and routes are ranked on their own. Passes get a separate list so a 549 R$ Director buy is not compared to a toilet break.
Will a rank change after a patch?
Yes. Letters follow live servers, not launch week. Watch patch notes if a route, gun, or pass is reworked.
Why is there no F tier?
Every method on these pages works somewhere. An option that never works is omitted instead of being ranked as filler.
