The CAT Guides Hub
Pick a first-hour, escape, secrets, keycard, caretaker, feral-city, or controls page — not all of them at once.
This hub is the index for every The CAT tutorial on the wiki. The CAT is the Roblox experience listed as The Cat Shelter, built by Ikigai Cybercore Studios (place 76526090659517, universe 10094225577). It released on 28 April 2026 as a free-to-play online roleplay with up to 26 players per server and later peaked at 29,998 concurrent players on 13 June 2026. You morph as a cat and try to leave, or you join the caretaker team and try to stop that. After a breakout you keep playing as a feral cat in the city. That second half is easy to miss if you close the game the moment a door opens.
Use this page to pick one guide that matches the question you actually typed. The CAT rewards layout memory more than highlight-reel sprinting. Each child page below is written for a different job, and this hub does not reprint those walkthroughs.
Which guide matches your intent
If you just spawned and you are not sure you joined the correct place, open Getting Started. That is the first-hour page: how to tell The CAT from The Cat Alpha horror title, Catch the Cat, and the smaller Cat Shelter clone; how to pick cat or caretaker; why Shift sprint matters; and why you should walk the halls before you try a cinematic exit.
If the only question you have is “how do I get out,” skip ahead to how to escape The CAT. That article is the breakout manual. It ranks pickpocketing a keycard, breaking a toilet into the sewers, digging tunnels, rolling a rare Angel cat morph, and coordinating a cage rescue. It is not a general how-to-play essay.
If you queued as a vet or guard, do not start on the cat pages. Read the caretaker guide. The duty loop is taser, then Arrest Cat, then jail. Sewer camping, default weapons, team limits, and paid loadouts live there so you stop treating security like a deathmatch.
If the UI already told you that you escaped, you need feral city. Outside the walls the hunt continues. That page covers being chased, the feral base, the Boss Mafia Cat Golden AK, player-reported wanted points, and how escaped cats still help caged ones.
If buttons feel wrong, open controls. Shift sprint is the one input almost every player comment agrees on. Pickpocket is a click-and-spam from behind a caretaker. Cat attack is what breaks toilets. Mobile and console binds are still unverified, and that page says so instead of inventing a layout.
If you already know the five methods and you keep dying because you cannot find the hole, open secrets and hidden routes. That page is the map-memory article: toilet to sewers, diggable walls, the caretaker-only safety zone, and the secret passage toward the feral base. It also lists what we will not invent, including hoverboard methods.
If the problem is the card itself — how to steal it, why you glow, whether a vet can hand one over — open how to get a keycard. That is not a second escape ranking. It is the steal manual.
First hour: how to play The CAT
New players lose runs by treating the shelter like an obstacle course. It is a workplace with patrols, cages, a toilet you can destroy, walls you can dig, a safety zone cats cannot enter, and a city on the other side of a successful leave. Your first session should be a scouting shift. Learn where caretakers idle, where the toilet sits relative to the main hall, and which corners hide tunnel starts. Getting Started is built for that hour. It also sends you to players so you understand cat versus caretaker before you spend Robux.
There are no working promo codes as of September 2026. If a thumbnail promised a redeem code, still skim the codes hub so you know the board is empty, then come back here. The in-game store is real. The code list is not.
Escape intent
Breakout is the search term that keeps The CAT on the charts. The shelter is readable and the exits are not equally safe. How to escape is the long-form version of every route we can document without inventing tunnels. Pair it with the escape-route tier list when you want a ranking instead of a walkthrough, and keep the escape checklist open if you like a tick-box before you queue.
Two facts change which route is actually easiest on a full server. Holding a stolen keycard paints a target on you. The toilet drop skips the card, but vets camp the sewers. “Easiest” on an empty server is not easiest at 26 players. Read the escape guide for the ranking, then the cat role page if you want the identity and morph angle rather than the route list.
Caretaker intent
Caretaker is the other half of the same round. You are not a horror killer. You tase, you arrest, you walk the cat to jail. Shotgun and baton exist on the free kit. Gamepasses add tools such as Rainbow Leash, HMG, AWM, Elite SWAT, Elite Cat Surgeon, Director weapon grants, and Private Jail, but the unpaid loop still wins if you hold the toilet and the card carriers. The caretaker guide is the duty manual. The caretaker role page is the team-limit and identity version of the same topic. Rank guns on weapons and passes on gamepasses.
If the cat team is full or the vet team is full, that is a team-limit problem, not a broken queue. Bypass Team Limit exists as a 79 Robux pass. Do not assume you can always swap sides for free on a packed server.
Feral city intent
Escape is a phase change, not the credits. As a feral you can still loop back toward caged cats, hide at a feral base, and spend the Boss Mafia Cat pass on a Golden AK if you own it. Player reports mention wanted points. One video mentions lives; treat that as unverified unless you see it on your own HUD. Read feral city when you keep dying after a “successful” breakout and you cannot tell why the round is still going.
Controls intent
If you cannot sprint, pickpocket, or break the toilet, no route guide will help. Controls isolates inputs: WASD assumed, Shift to sprint from player comments, click behind a caretaker for the keycard, cat attack on the toilet, jump, climb on some geometry, hairball as a throwable, and vet tools on the other team. Use it as a reference card, then return to Getting Started or how to escape.
Secrets and keycards
Layout memory is a different job from a first-hour walkthrough. Secrets is for toilets, sewers, diggable walls, the safety zone cats cannot enter, and the feral-base passage. How to get a keycard is for the behind-the-vet steal, the paint, player-reported spin-wheel luck, and unverified cafeteria guesses. Pair both with the escape checklist before you queue.
How to use this hub without rereading everything
A clean syllabus for a new account is five sessions, not five tabs. Session one is Getting Started: join the right place, pick a side, walk the layout, and do not force a first exit. Session two is a single breakout from the how-to-escape page, with the checklist beside you. Session three is a caretaker shift so you learn what the other team is looking at. Session four is a feral-city life after you actually leave. Session five is a controls pass whenever an input fails. That order matches how a 26-player server feels.
Side doors from this hub are not extra tutorials. Updates is for patch movement. Scripts is for people researching client GUIs, not a required step. Tools holds the checklist. Links holds the official Roblox page. There is no Discord invite and no Trello board to list, and this wiki will not invent either.
When a friend asks what they should read, send them this hub and one child page, not a random video. The guides stay aligned to the same facts: released 28 April 2026, Ikigai Cybercore Studios, free-to-play, no promo codes, cat versus caretaker, then feral city. Everything else on this wiki is a specialization of that loop.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for The CAT on Roblox.
Which The CAT guide should I read first?
Open Getting Started if you just joined. Open how to escape only after you know the layout and the role split.
I only care about escaping. Which page is that?
Use how to escape The CAT for methods, then the escape-route tier list if you want a ranking instead of a walkthrough.
I queued as a caretaker. Do I still need the beginner guide?
Skim Getting Started so you joined the right place, then switch to the caretaker guide and the caretaker role page.
What do I read after the UI says I escaped?
The round is not over. Follow feral city for the hunt outside the shelter, then the cat role page if you need morph context.
Are these guides for a different cat Roblox game?
No. This hub is only for The CAT (The Cat Shelter) by Ikigai Cybercore Studios, place 76526090659517. It is not The Cat Alpha horror game, Catch the Cat, or the smaller Cat Shelter clone.
Do the guides include working codes?
No. There are no promo codes as of September 2026. The codes hub exists so a drop can be listed the day a redeem UI appears.
Where are the secret tunnels and the keycard steps?
Use secrets for toilets, sewers, diggable walls, and the safety zone. Use how to get a keycard for the steal itself.
